2024 is going to be another breakout year for New Zealand’s L.A.B. The band recently teamed with Easy Star Records to drop the dub filled single, “Oh No (Pt. 2)” and it’s so irie! I love the track’s funky bass line and its all around groove!

This year a big time collab took our top spot for best song. Congratulations to Samory I, Kabaka Pyramid and Capleton for their song, “Wrath” being named the 2023 Daily Reggae Song of the Year!

Feel the power of Wrath by Samory I FT Kabaka Pyramid and Capleton. The song was released by Easy Star Records and Overstand Entertainment and takes shot at the violence and corruption facing the youth.

Reggae legend Johnny Osbourne’s latest album, “Right Right Time” is an instant classic. The talented singer songwriter teamed up with the French Connexion Band and the collaboration created a fresh sound that is amongst the best new reggae that I’ve heard in recent years.

Gentleman’s Dub Club beautifully blend reggae, dub and hip hop in “On A Mission”. I love the UK-based band’s ability to cross between these genres. The album’s storytelling is on point and covers life’s ups and downs while emphasizing the importance only settling for positive vibes.

Jesse Royal sends a strong message of “Hope” in new single featuring Romain Virgo. The song was released by Easy Star Records, and according to the label, speaks about “ways to fight for justice, uplift his community, and move forward”.

Johnny Osbourne has recorded a fresh take on the soulful track, “In Your Eyes”. The single, released by Easy Star Records / Baco Records was originally released on the artist’s 1982 album, “Never Stop Fighting”, and you’ll love the gorgeous reggae love song.

David Bowie is one of the greatest musicians of our lifetime and his 1972 album, “The Rise And Fall Of Ziggy Stardust And The Spiders From Mars” is an all time classic. The incredible Easy Star All-Stars are now introducing a new generation to Bowie’s music while putting their unique reggae sound on the musical experience in “Ziggy Stardub”.
