Daily Reggae Artist Profile: The Elovaters’ hard work and dedication have made the band’s dreams a reality

Daily Reggae spoke with The Elovaters’ singer and guitarist, Jackson Wetherbee to learn about the band’s incredible summer including the release of the amazing single, “Gimme Love”, the positive reception for The Elovaters’ 2021 album, “Castles” and growth touring with huge bands like Stick Figure, Dirty Heads, SOJA, Tribal Seeds and Slightly Stoopid.

Tell us about your new single “Gimme Love”! What was the creative process like?

This was a song I had been writing for awhile! It all started with the guitar riff. I would play that riff over and over for a few months until one night all the lyrics just started falling into place. Once I started writing the lyrics and melody it took about an hour to finish it up. I showed Nick and the rest of the band and everyone was digging it. I'm super happy with how it came out!

How is touring going for your 2021 album, “Castles”?

It’s been mind blowing honestly. Our growth since Castles dropped has given us so much to be grateful for. Especially this summer starting with the direct support slot with Stick Figure, into the Dirty Heads / SOJA / Tribal Seeds Tour, and ending with a few Slightly Stoopid shows. Can’t imagine anything cooler to be honest.

Are you working on any new music and how does the band go about writing new songs?

We have been writing nonstop in new and familiar ways. I’ve been flying to Nashville to write with some people which has been an exciting new avenue for us. We’ve also been working on stuff together in our practice spot and ideas while we’ve been on tour.
