This week’s Daily Reggae Song of the Week is “Foolish Games (Dub Mix)” by Joey Calderaio featuring Nathan Aurora! This was one our favorite songs off Calderaio’s rocking “Chasing Constellations” album, and it’s super cool to hear this dub take.

Start 2024 with Roots of Creation and the band’s “Grateful Roots” Winter Tour. The New England reggae rockers are kicking off this East Coast run in January and are touring all the way down to Florida through early March.

2024 is going to be another breakout year for New Zealand’s L.A.B. The band recently teamed with Easy Star Records to drop the dub filled single, “Oh No (Pt. 2)” and it’s so irie! I love the track’s funky bass line and its all around groove!

Congratulations to Jack Johnson for “In Between Dub” being named the 2023 Daily Reggae Dub Album of the Year! In Between Dub” is a collection of some of Johnson’s most endeared tracks plucked from his extensive discography, masterfully mixed and blended by a select few of dub’s best artists!

Bopping around the chilly winter streets with Rising Tide’s new album, “Pixel Prison”, is warming my ears and putting a spring in my step. The album itself is a trippy reggae-dub, soul-jazz fusion, best listened to in order, one song after the other like the days of old. Continue for the full review!

2023 was a year full of amazing dub led and dub influenced albums and had us fans jamming along from dusk till dawn! Here are our five favorite dub albums of the year.

Song of the Week: Switch Up feat. Koffee. Protoje is back with a special release, In Search Of Zion, a Reinterpretation of His 2020 LP In Search Of Lost Time. The artist called on the production team Zion I Kings to create unique and soulful twists on his past tracks.

“Railroad Shelter” by TJ O’Neill featuring Stick Figure is a perfect reminder to seek new inspiration. The track features Stick Figure’s patented reggae rock sound with a gorgeous dub inspired riddim.

Start your day with positivity while jamming along to “Cali Heart” by The Autos ft. Arise Roots and Massif. This is such a feel good track with a catchy riddim, horn section and an irie bass line. I love the vocals and the way the artists each compliment one another in this reggae and dub filled track released by Easy Star Records!

The Loving Paupers are releasing beautiful new music blending reggae, dub and rock. The Washington, D.C.-based collective have dropped two singles supporting their upcoming album, which Easy Star Records is releasing.

Micah Shemaiah’s uplifting spirit is in full display in “Jamaica Jamaica”. The album opens with the powerful title track, which calls out the need for Jamaica to come together to better address societal issues. You can hear the urgency in Shemaiah’s voice over the riddim and it definitely catches the listener’s ear.

Surfer, filmmaker, environmentalist and extraordinary musician, Jack Johnson has been in our eyes and ears for over 20 years with his silky smooth style and impeccable execution of the best beach campfire songs available.

Gentleman’s Dub Club beautifully blend reggae, dub and hip hop in “On A Mission”. I love the UK-based band’s ability to cross between these genres. The album’s storytelling is on point and covers life’s ups and downs while emphasizing the importance only settling for positive vibes.

Dive into Audioweb’s new EP, “AUDI/OWEB I/O, Vol. 1”. The UK-based reggae and dub band has a really cool sound blending reggae, rock, dub and electronic influences and it’s so cool how they came back together to create this new music after a 20 year break.

Well Grounded’s “Sailing On” sends an important message to keep smiling along the rocky road. I really love this track’s unique sound and message of keeping faith even during the storms we face.

Relax with RootsyBeats and Dub Idren’s irie dub track, “Spiritual Calling”. The Spanish artist collaborated with the Colombian artist on this gem of a track released by Dubophonic Records, and I love the way the melodies sound in this peaceful song.

Find peace with Joss Jaffe’s “Sun Mountain Sea (Instrumentals)” album. Jaffe is an amazingly talented musician and when I listen to his music, I am transported to a calm space. I love listening to the original album and Jaffe’s lyrics, but this instrumental album is a very unique listening experience as well.
