2023 was a year full of amazing dub led and dub influenced albums and had us fans jamming along from dusk till dawn! Here are our five favorite dub albums of the year.

Start your day with positivity while jamming along to “Cali Heart” by The Autos ft. Arise Roots and Massif. This is such a feel good track with a catchy riddim, horn section and an irie bass line. I love the vocals and the way the artists each compliment one another in this reggae and dub filled track released by Easy Star Records!

Positive vibes are on the way via Stephen Marley’s Babylon By Bus Summer Tour 2023. Stephen Marley shows are amongst the best experiences in music today. The talented singer-songwriter plays deep into his music catalog and also jams fan favorite Bob Marley tunes.

Rubbah Tree is a jamming reggae band from Bend, Oregon, who recently dropped a new single, “Call Of The Mountain” ft. Stylie and Karim Israel, and it will set you free on a trip into nature and good vibes!

Collie Buddz has dropped 2023 dates for a national tour kicking off at Cali Vibes in February. The tour will run through the end of March and feature The Elovaters and Arise Roots on select dates. Collie brings so much energy to his performances and his catalog of reggae hits will have you singing all night long! Arise Roots joins Collie for the majority of the tour and The Elovaters will team up during several Florida shows!

John Rouse was on the scene at this year’s Reggae on the Mountain in Santa Barbara, California, and took these amazing shots of fan favorites Ziggy Marley, Don Carlos, Karim Israel of Arise Roots, and DENM. Happy Thanksgiving everyone! In the words of Ziggy Marley, “It's just a beautiful day; A beautiful day”.

Roots of Creation collaborate with Arise Roots in the rocking new song, “Guiding Light”. The song starts off with one of RoC’s patented guitar solos and then goes into some irie synths. “Guiding Light” is a super mellow song about taking your time and following love as you chase your dreams.

Fortunate Youth have set dates for the band’s upcoming “Riddim Rydah Fall Tour” and these shows are going to be epic! Fortunate Youth shows are so much fun! The band always brings good vibes and some incredible acts are joining them during each leg of the tour. During the national tour, you can also catch Passafire, The Elovaters, Arise Roots, and Joe Samba!

Gonzo (Ryan Gonzo) is a great example of the phenomenal talent in today’s reggae community. His contribution to the genre is huge - from his time in Fortunate Youth, years as one of Tribal Seeds’ core members, and his dedication to consistently releasing amazing solo work. Gonzo’s new album, “Downtown Swing” shines a light on his one of a kind voice and ability to write simple yet beautiful reggae love songs.

This weekend’s Truckee Reggae Fest 2022 features an incredible lineup including Ky-Mani Marley, Third World, and Sister Carol. The second annual festival will be held June 24 - June 25 at the Truckee River Outdoor Amphitheater in Truckee, California. The venue looks absolutely gorgeous, and the festival’s lineup is rocking!

Slow down and listen to Arise Roots’ “If You Let Me (Unplugged: Live at Felton Music Hall)”. The new single is a beautiful live acoustic version of “If You Let Me”, which was originally released on Arise Roots’ 2020 album, “Pathways”. The song is a thoughtful love song with outstanding lyrics and we love the slow downed pace in the new version.

New Mexico’s Tico Time Reggae Fest features reggae stars Black Uhuru, Etana, Collie Buddz, and Dezarie. The four-day and night camping reggae music festival kicks off on May 19th and according to the festival producer, Rasta Stevie Smith features a new, adventurous venue located in Aztec, New Mexico. If you’re looking for an opportunity to explore the four corners and take in a weekend of awesome reggae music Tico Time looks like a blast!

HIRIE shines in her new single YOUniverse featuring Arise Roots. The single released via Silverback Music’s Controlled Substance Sound Labs highlights an important message about harnessing energy and marrying the past, present, and future. HIRIE collaborated with Karim Israel from Arise Roots and the best word we can use to describe the song’s new music video is majestic. You have to check it out!

While the global pandemic helped bring reggae fans an abundance of wonderful studio music from their favorite bands, it also starved them of the live reggae music they crave. Perhaps the epitome of this musical withdrawal was the postponement of the now legendary Cali Roots Festival. But fans need not wait any longer! The Cali Roots team is bringing us a series of festivals dubbed "Cali Roots Sessions" leading up to the large festival occurring in 2022, and the first is being held in San Francisco on October 23rd & 24th, 2021.

It’s been a difficult ride for the music industry and talented reggae musicians the past year, but hope is arriving, and we are excited to report a music festival in Arizona, ¡Viva Iriezona! A Celebration of Music and Arts, is taking place on Hidden Lake in Buckeye, Arizona, April 9th through April 11th.
