2023 Daily Reggae “Best Of” Awards: Song of the Year Nominees

Reggae sparks creativity, empowers action and brings us closer together.

The amount of amazing songs dropped in 2023 has been absolutely incredible to follow along with. These are the tracks that spoke loudest to us!

Congratulations to 2023 Daily Reggae “Best Of” Awards Nominees for Song of the Year!

  • Buju Banton, BORN FOR GREATNESS: The track is one of the best songs of 2023. The riddim is absolute fire connecting reggae, dancehall and hip hop, and Banton showcases his lyrical flow, vocals and all around star power. I love the song’s guitar as well - it adds a super cool element to the track.

  • Dirty Heads, Rescue Me: Rescue Me is the best genre cross over track of the year and brings together so many cool elements including a catchy riddim, hip hop flow, and all around motivational feel.

  • Samory I, Kabaka Pyramid, Capleton: Wrath: Feel the power of Wrath. The song was released by Easy Star Records and Overstand Entertainment and takes shot at the violence and corruption facing the youth.

  • Nattali Rize, Kabaka Pyramid, Stu Brooks: This World: The teaming of these reggae superstars is epic, and they share an important message for people to unite and take steps to create a better world for one another and future generations.

  • Stephen Marly: Old Soul: The wonderful acoustic driven track is made even more powerful by the touching visuals, including never-before-seen photos, album covers, and a collage of Jamaican music history.
