Iration are some of my favorite reggae rockers on the scene and it’s been super fun following the band’s impressive career growth over the last decade plus. The time is here to get amped for Iration’s forthcoming album, “Daytrippin”. The new album, which will be the band’s eighth, will drop on October 6th and the album’s title track is fire!

Italian reggae superstar Alborosie has been dropping amazing tracks for decades and the singer-songwriter’s latest album, “Destiny” is the culmination of Alborosie’s dedication to his craft. In the 14 track album, Alborosie brilliantly shines light on important societal issues over a mix of top reggae, rock and dancehall riddims. The instrumentation in “Destiny” is superb and I especially love the use of horns, the vibing drum patterns, and listening to Alborosie’s creative and thoughtful lyrics.

Jesse Royal sends a strong message of “Hope” in new single featuring Romain Virgo. The song was released by Easy Star Records, and according to the label, speaks about “ways to fight for justice, uplift his community, and move forward”.

Push stress away with Buju Banton’s new single, “Coconut Wata (Sip)”. The new song released by Gargamel Music / Roc Nation Records / Def Jam Recordings is a perfect summer vibe and can help you manage any obstacles that you’re facing.

This week’s song is “Hope” by Kolohe Kai. In his newest single, the Hawaiian artist pleads for peace in his signature smooth delivery. The rocking reggae instrumental was produced by Noah Cronin of Sea Major Seven Studio and provides a slight edge that drives the message home. Stream “Hope” now!

The smooth sound of New Zealand’s own, Katchafire, along with Hawaii-based artist, FIA, made a stop in Deep Ellum, TX on a beautiful Thursday evening during the last leg of their USA Tour 2023. Being a school night had no impact on the attendance of the soul-filled evening of roots magic.

September’s Holo Holo Music Festival features a jamming lineup of artists like Kolohe Kai, J Boog, Common Kings, and Mike Love. The two day festival on the Old Sacramento Waterfront runs September 9th and 10th!

Julian Marley & The Uprising are set to spread positivity across California with their first stop on tour at Music Box SD on June 14. Daily Reggae had the honor of interviewing Julian to learn more about the artist’s irie new album, “Colors of Royal”, what music fans can expect to hear on the tour, and the singer-songwriter’s excitement to kick off the tour at the beautiful Music Box SD venue.

Iration is teaming with Artikal Sound System and Cydeways in the “IRL Fall Tour” this October and November! The national tour kicks off in Sacramento mid October and runs through mid November wrapping in Tucson.

Mr Mego showcases big heart and superb vocals in “Oh, Tiana”. The Bay Area musician beautifully blends reggae, rock and pop music, and this track is so smooth and vibey!

Now, I am admittedly biased because Wolf Trap is my hometown venue and SOJA is my hometown band, but this Saturday’s show at Wolf Trap is set to be an all time classic. Their first show back in over 4 years, SOJA is bringing Protoje, Jesse Royal, and a special appearance by J Boog to celebrate. Oh and did I mention the venue sits inside a national park….

This July 15-20, 2023, Mighty Crown Sound System are inviting travelers to join the “Far East Reggae Cruise”, Japan’s first reggae music cruise! The five night cruise will feature some fun performances from international artists including Freddie McGregor, Massive B, and Wayne Wonder.

The Daily Reggae Song of the Week is Pepper’s newest single “Get Me Ready”. It’s a beautiful, laid back reggae tune, perfect for Sunday morning. The track was co-written with Tim Armstrong of Rancid and Kevin Bivona of The Interrupters and punk fans will surely recognize the influence. This amazing collab was released by LAW Records, and hopefully we see more to come!

Take over any dance floor with Luigui Bleand’s “ZUMBA”. The artist stems from the Dominican Republic and teamed with reggaeton artists Yomel El Meloso and Tivi Gunz on the Spanish speaking track and it is SO fun!

Feel a sense of peace and romance with Singular Nature’s “Little Waters”. The Ventura, California reggae rockers recently dropped this relaxing tune celebrating singer Hefty Chieftain’s honeymoon abroad, and it will instantly inspire your next trip!

Italy’s Thierry encourages the importance of being your true self in “Them Muzzle Ya”. The artist impresses in this roots reggae track that highlight his unique vocals and passionate lyrics.

Muffin But Good Vibes will celebrate its third anniversary this August at Music Box SD with Pacific Dub, Bikini Trill and more! The MBGV crew is always bringing positive vibes and this event on Aug. 17 will be super fun!
