When you’re inspired to listen to music, different vibes come to mind. Sometimes you look for a chill laid back sound. Other times, you look for an inspirational message. And sometimes you look to hear a song that makes your move your head up and down while a guitar completely shreds. Ballyhoo! and Kash’d Out absolutely shred our faces off in “The Front Porch”. We love hearing these two incredible bands collaborating on the title track of Ballyhoo!’s fun new EP, “The Front Porch”.

Kirsty Rock began her musical journey in the 1990's Brooklyn Music Scene. This led to her performing as a vocalist on the 2003 Easy Star All-Stars' "Dark Side of the Moon", an album that was a worldwide breakout hit for the then rising Easy Star Records. She began touring with the band, ultimately performing in over 30 countries. While on tour with the All Stars or her other band Trumystic, Kirsty allowed songs she was writing to grow organically and without pressure. With a collection of great songs, Rock began creating the debut record with some tracking at her Vermont home, then working with Grammy Nominated Matt Stein who helped produce them. Kirsty brought in her friends in the scene to collaborate on "Slow Burn", including members of Easy Star All-Stars, The Movement, and Burning Brass. This level of musicianship rings true on every song on the record both in the writing and the performances.

Jemere Morgan is set to kick off the “Keep Blazing” Summer Tour 2022 in July. The tour will stop through cities in Colorado, California, Utah, Oregon, Washington, Texas and Honduras. This is a great opportunity to see Jemere perform and hear some of his irie new songs!

The single has us feeling ready for summer vibes and follows Stick Figure’s collaboration with Slightly Stoopid in fan favorite track, “World on Fire”. Way of Life highlights Stick Figure’s distinctive sound and another classic reggae riddim.

Last night, Mike Love and Dub Inc shared a magical set at Berkeley’s Cornerstone. The show was definitely up there with one of the best concerts I’ve ever been to! Dub Inc started the night with their feel good and interactive set that inspired the audience to dance and groove. The France-based band have a special ability to connect with audiences and we loved feeling their passion. Speaking of passion, when you think of Mike Love, you think of one of the most passionate musicians in reggae music today. Mike’s set featuring his full Full Circle band was like a reggae shredding clinic. Mike’s guitar skills are absolutely legendary and his deep song catalog was so nicely showcased.

Santa Barbara’s Reggae On The Mountain 2022 looks so fun and features stellar acts like Ziggy Marley, Don Carlos, Yellowman and Vana Liya. This year is the eleventh annual festival and it runs November 18-20. Dailyreggae.com caught up with organizer, Amit Gilad, founder, Label27, to learn about the unique fan experience and lineup.

Hawaiian singer-songwriter, Dillon Pakele showcases the power of perseverance in his new EP, “Faith”. The EP released by Pakele Entertainment honors Dillon’s father and features six beautiful new songs blending island reggae and R&B.

Nattali Rize and Mike Love send an inspiring message to never give up in the new single, “Believer”. In the song’s chorus, Rize powerfully sings, “I'm a Believer, I believe the life we have is ours to make. Everyday. I'm a Believer, there is no time to waste so make a start today.” What an incredible message and an important one as we all face obstacles between our dreams. Believer is a beautiful song and Rize and Love together shine so bright lyrically and in their passionate deliveries.

There are music artists; those with a vision and message for the sound they want to communicate to the world, and there are musicians; those who are experts in the theory and technical knowledge of creating and performing music. Then there are those like Clinton Fearon, who is the talented embodiment of both. Fearon is a legend of reggae music who began his prolific career in the late 60s, first as a member of The Gladiators, and eventually transitioning to performing and releasing music as a solo artist. He also has been brought in on countless records as a session musician, becoming known as one of the best bass players in the genre. For his newest album "Breaking News", released on June 3rd, 2022, Clinton traveled to France to record and work with a group of talented musicians to create a record that he deems as one of, if not his best. 

Since its inception in 1999, Groundation has brought to the reggae community an immense catalogue of quality recorded music that blends genuine and heartfelt roots reggae with jazz influenced compositions and instrumental performances. As is the case for many of the albums we have reviewed thus far, Groundation's wonderful new album "One Rock" was born from the fires of the pandemic.

Tropidelic’s “Sleeping Giant Tour” kicks off today in Aspen, Colorado! The nationwide tour is an awesome opportunity to see the rising reggae rockers. Michael Franti & Spearhead and Kash’d Out will perform on certain tour dates as well. These are going to be epic shows!

Start your week by listening to an acoustic version of Dale and the ZDubs’ “Won’t Go” on Sugarshack Sessions. Dale and the ZDubs bring incredible energy and we love their upbeat sound. Won’t Go is a beautiful song and the band’s cohesive performance is impressive.
