When you think of Cali Roots you think of the ultimate reggae weekend. We first attended Cali Roots in 2012 and it’s the type of life-changing musical experience that built our pride as reggae fans even more. And having the chance to see Rebelution play at Cali Roots will always be one of the most incredible live music experiences we’ve ever witnessed. Rebelution first headlined Cali Roots in 2011 and the band’s consistent development and dedication are so fun to watch. Dailyreggae.com caught up with Rebelution’s Wesley Finley to get his take on what makes Cali Roots so special, Rebelution’s growth headlining Cali Roots, and his excitement for his Cali Roots 2022.

A new wave is coming from the Northeastern ocean town of Gloucester, Massachusetts in the form of reggae rock band Over the Bridge. Having been steadily making a name for themselves over the past few years, the band has raised their self-described brand of "Feel Good Music" to a new level with their debut full-length release. The tracks on "Over the Bridge" are well crafted from both a songwriting and production perspective, with reggae being the primary ingredient that is then complemented by flavors of rock, folk, hip-hop, and New England spice. Members Mike Forgette and Dave Campbell have been hard at work since their first show in 2014, and their new album is proof that it is all paying off.

Space Kamp has elevated its sound and we are loving the psychedelic reggae hip-hop duo’s new single AIR featuring Jessica Lamb. AIR features a groovy riddim that truly makes you feel like you’ve transported into a new galaxy. It’s been fun watching Space Kamp’s artistic growth and hustle. AIR is a song that we’d love to see Space Kamp perform at an upcoming show!

For most fans of reggae music, the genre is what helps us get through a bad day alright, a normal day with happiness, and a great day with the utmost joy. In the Bumpin Uglies new single, “Make It Through The Day”, released by Ineffable Records, singer Brandon Hardesty touches on the little things throughout his day that help make it a good one. It's small bits of love and silver linings that make life beautiful, and Brandon describes this wonderfully and in a way that brings us into his world.

Vana Liya’s rise as a musician in the reggae scene is inspiring to watch as are her passionate performances! She will play at Cali Roots on Sunday, May 29th and Dailyreggae.com caught up with the singer-songwriter to learn more about her musical journey.

New Kingston continues to release incredible reggae music, and the band’s Madd Chunes, Vol.1 EP is a vibe in the best way! The EP follows up New Kingston’s 2021 single, Never Stress, Never Worry, which appeared on the Cali Roots Riddim 2021 album. Madd Chunes features three new songs showcasing the band’s unique sound. New Kingston is able to marry reggae, hip hop, and rock and the groups’ songs make us feel so alive.

Leading up to their new album Love & Fire, The Black Seeds have released the funky new jam, It’s So Real. It’s So Real will have you moving your feet to a grooving bass line. The song released by Easy Star Records offers a taste of what is going to be an incredible new album!

Chile reggae legends Gondwana and the incredible E.N Young & Imperial Sound are set to start their Volver a Sentir tour tomorrow in San Diego! The 14 date tour will reach cities in California, Oregon, Washington, Canada, Utah, Colorado, and Texas. Volver a Sentir loosely translates to feel again, and there is no doubt these musicians will be sharing their amazing vibes!

In her new single, Sierra Lane reminds us to appreciate the little things in life. The talented Florida-based singer-songwriter and guitarist celebrates the small victories in life and enjoys the little moments that make us happy. Released by LAW Records, Little Things follows up Sierra’s 2020 single, Deep Dive.

Through The Roots and Likkle Jordee are bringing the heat this summer during the Hot Damn Tour! Through The Roots will kick off the tour at Cali Roots on May 29th and bring the good vibes throughout June and into July! The tour will reach California, Nevada, Montana, Idaho, Washington, Oregon, and Arizona!

Love Me Easy is a sexy new love song by ANORA and Stick Figure with a cool reggae riddim. ANORA sings in the song’s chorus, “Love me, easy; Don’t let me down hard; Kiss me, softly; Want all of your charm; You got the right kind of motion; I will give you devotion; Love me, love me, love me, easy.” ANORA has a beautiful voice and her singing compliments Scott Woodruff from Stick Figure’s sound really well.

Jamaican-born, U.S.-based artist Mighty Mystic has spent his life dedicated to the creation of music. As a kid, he and his brother Stephen began performing at talent shows and quickly garnered a reputation as talented young "reggae rappers". The two had early success with a couple of national hits, which Mighty built upon on his 2010 full album release "Wake Up the World" which received international acclaim. The three albums to follow achieved similar success, with all four charting in the Top 10. As amazing as these LPs are, Daily Reggae got a sneak peek of Mighty Mystic's new album "Giant" to be released on March 18th, and we have to say it just might be his best work yet!

Buffalo-based ska fusion band Part-Time Genius released an awesome new EP titled Ducky that has us smiling with its breezy tunes and vibey horn lines. The New York group is able to combine their favorite genres of ska, funk, reggae, and rock tastefully and with a groove that reminds of other East Coast greats like Dispatch and O.A.R.

Roots of Creation and Brett Wilson turn negative into positive in the new single, Ocean Moon. The reggae rockers blend reggae, EDM, pop, and dub and the song features RoC’s classic irie bass lines and rocking guitar. In a post on the band’s Instagram page, they reflect on this incredible song’s deeper meaning.
