Creating something great often requires hard work, diligence, and a lot of patience. Brothers Tui Avei and Tau Avei, along with cousin Josh Brunson, understand this, taking five years to complete their fantastic debut full-length album "The Fourth Quarter" released on October 8, 2021. The trio performs and records under the name "The Late Ones", which to them represents their respect for legendary artists and revolutionaries such as "Bob Marley, 2Pac, Jimi Hendrix, Steve Biko, and John Lennon", whom the trio honor through their music. Listen to any track by The Late Ones and it's easy to believe that they are related. The trio's three voices work wonderfully together to create beautiful vocal harmonies with a sound similar to pioneering roots groups such as The Mighty Diamonds. Combine this with 90's hip hop beats and flow reminiscent of A Tribe Called Quest and The Late Ones are a force to be reckoned with.

Through The Roots has dropped the Departure Remix EP featuring six songs off the band’s irie 2020, album, Departure. The EP features cool remixes of fan favorites like At Peace, My Girl, and Rollin’. Artists like Amp Live, Green Lion Crew, squeeda, and Coast Club jumped on the EP to bring fresh sounds to the tracks.

Giant Panda Guerrilla Dub Squad recently released a beautiful new song called Narita. The song features a laid-back baseline and a gnarly guitar riff inspiring a trip to Narita, Japan. Narita was produced by Matt Goodwin and Zion I Kings.

Jamaica’s Stranjah Miller shines in his new single, About, which features a message of simplicity and focus. Stranjah showcases inspirational vocals on top of an irie acoustic guitar, and foot-tapping drum beat. About was released by Street Rockaz Family and Zion High Music and dropped on September 24th, 2021.

Skip Marley has teamed up with Popcaan in his latest single, Vibe, released today. We are absolutely loving the song’s riddim and the good vibes Skip and Popcaan showcase. Vibe was released by Tuff Gong International/Island Records and the song is a perfect one to throw on at your next party.

The reggae classic, The Train Is Coming by Ken Boothe has been revisited in a new riddim release featuring over a dozen artists! The album was released by Upstairs Music and is called The Train Is Coming Riddim.

Today is our first time listening to Naâman and Dub Inc and we are loving their new collaboration in the song, Crazy. Crazy is sung in both French and English and has a super upbeat riddim that you cannot help but dance to! The artists sing, “Dem fool fool Dem way too crazy; If you wanna keep up make sure you nah follow nobody” and we love the message of making your own path in life! The high-energy song has an equally awesome music video with scenic views and a fun performance of the song.

What sets reggae apart from other musical genres is its deep sense of community embodied by both fans and artists alike. Instead of being fueled by competition, the extended reggae family wants to see one another succeed and become their best selves. Attend a reggae concert and you will find smiling faces and open arms from fellow fans. As a reggae artist one is more likely to find success by helping and collaborating with other artists than trying to outdo them. This methodology of positivity and collaboration is what brought renowned American reggae band SOJA together, and is entirely evident in their new album "Beauty In The Silence".

Don Letts (also known as The Rebel Dread) has released an irie dub-filled album titled: Late Night Tales presents Version Excursion selected by Don Letts. The album features over a dozen artists and we are grooving to this reggae/dub collection.

This month marks Bob Marley & The Wailers’ final live performance. Over forty years have passed and Bob Marley’s legacy and worldwide impact are felt every day. Reggae music is loved by fans around the world and it’s incredible to feel the love that reggae transmits giving people love, hope, and inspiration. Researcher and author Martijn Huisman has been dedicated to paying tribute to Marley and reggae and this week published a new book titled: The Reggae Nation: The Global Legacy of Bob Marley & The Wailers.

New York native Vana Liya has released her debut album "Little Kahuna" on LAW Records! Vana began making a splash in the reggae scene by posting covers of songs by Pepper, Rebelution, and Stick Figure that subsequently went viral and were shared on the bands' social media accounts. Since then she's been putting out wonderful singles, opening up for major reggae acts and performing at the one and only Sugarshack Sessions.
