Don Letts (also known as The Rebel Dread) has released an irie dub-filled album titled: Late Night Tales presents Version Excursion selected by Don Letts. The album features over a dozen artists and we are grooving to this reggae/dub collection.

According to a release sent to Dailyreggae.com, “The history of Caribbean music owes a debt to R&B as many of the early island releases were cover versions of US 45s. Ska’s breakthrough commercially, Millie Small’s ‘My Boy Lollipop’, was originally recorded by Barbie Gaye in ’50s New York. Cover versions became quite a thing in Jamaica and Don, following in that tradition, has dug deep with a selection of interesting dubbed out covers including thirteen exclusives.”

Definitely check this album out! You’ll hear grooving bass lines, irie riddims, and awesome vocals by artists like Easy Star All-Stars, Ghetto Priest, Prince Fatty, Quantic, and Zoe Devlin Love.

Caroline No by Zoe Devlin Love, and Tim Hutton is the Daily Reggae Song of the Day.
