Don’t wake the “Neighbors” with Dale and ZDubs ft Ballyhoo! Ska/punk is alive and well in the DMV, and two of Maryland’s best bands have come together to show how it is done. It’s a fun, high energy track with a big sing along chorus and a perfect addition to your favorite party playlist.

What do The Elovaters, Kyle Smith, Iya Terra, HIRIE, Tropidelic and Bumpin Uglies have in common? If you guessed that they’ve all got a spot on Ballyhoo!’s fiery new album, Shellshock, you’re entirely correct.  The Maryland based rockin’ reggae veterans have completed their latest collection of powerful songs with the help of some well-known friends.

This weekend’s Reggae Rise Up Maryland is going to bring so many positive vibes! The three day music festival features fan favorites like Rebelution, Pepper, Stick Figure, Koffee, Iration, Damian “Jr. Gong” Marley, Citizen Cope, and those are only the headliners!

When you’re inspired to listen to music, different vibes come to mind. Sometimes you look for a chill laid back sound. Other times, you look for an inspirational message. And sometimes you look to hear a song that makes your move your head up and down while a guitar completely shreds. Ballyhoo! and Kash’d Out absolutely shred our faces off in “The Front Porch”. Bumpin Uglies’ latest single, Right & Clever is an epic song with a strong message. The band, which blends punk and reggae, sing, “Don’t do it for the money, don’t do it for the drugs. Do it for your pride and the people you love. Humanity is temporary but glory is forever. When the world feels wrong and spiteful, we can be right and clever.” The song released via Ineffable Records also has a fun music video. Check it out this weekend!
