When you hear roots reggae, you instantly connect with an irie bass line, the lyrics standing up for people’s rights, and the sound of peace and love. Roots reggae remains strong in 2023 and we fell in love with some of these new LPs.

Reach for higher heights with Rasta Rick’s “Bird Of Paradise”. The beautiful song about being our best self, reaching for goals and enjoying the journey is one of the jamming tracks off the “Bird Of Paradise Riddim (Big Bus Riddim Series Vol. 1)” album.

Daily Reggae caught up with SunDub’s Joanna Teters (lead vocals) and Ben Teters (vocals and drums) to discuss the band’s creative process, inspiration, and upcoming album. The album, “Spirits Eat Music” will be released by Easy Star Records and was recorded at Lydgate Sound in Kauai, Hawaii.

Brooklyn-based reggae band, SunDub will have you rocking all night when you turn on their new single, “Jump and Dance” featuring Lutan Fyah. This is such a fun song and I love the energy SunDub brings to the single released by Easy Star Records. The single was recorded at Lydgate Sound in Kauai, HI and is the first released ahead of SunDub’s upcoming album, which I cannot wait to listen to!

This weekend’s Truckee Reggae Fest 2022 features an incredible lineup including Ky-Mani Marley, Third World, and Sister Carol. The second annual festival will be held June 24 - June 25 at the Truckee River Outdoor Amphitheater in Truckee, California. The venue looks absolutely gorgeous, and the festival’s lineup is rocking!

Now you may know Kyle Ahern for his shredding guitar solos at Rebelution shows, which, if you haven’t seen live, is an absolute must see, but did you know Kyle is an incredible song writer? We’ve been absolutely loving Kyle’s solo work as well, and he has teamed with Inna Vision in the laid back new tune titled “Loving Easy on You”. The single highlights Kyle’s musicianship, songwriting, and of course gnarly guitar chops. And Inna Vision brings his island vibes making the song so catchy!

Through The Roots has dropped the Departure Remix EP featuring six songs off the band’s irie 2020, album, Departure. The EP features cool remixes of fan favorites like At Peace, My Girl, and Rollin’. Artists like Amp Live, Green Lion Crew, squeeda, and Coast Club jumped on the EP to bring fresh sounds to the tracks.

Reggae Vibes Music has dropped the irie Rock All Riddim featuring reggae stars Sizzla, Richie Spice, Lutan Fyah, Anthony B, and Turbulence. The American based roots label said in a release sent to Dailyreggae.com, “The Rock All Riddim has new music from Richie Spice, Snatcha Lion and Fiyaneer, who are all from the Rock Hall district in the hills of St. Andrew. It was Fiyaneer who suggested dropping the "H" and using "Rock All" to symbolize that reggae music is for all people. Hence the name Rock All Riddim.” We are loving the beautiful music, and listening to each artist’s unique spin on the riddim is a fun experience!

Celebrating our significant other is so important and Eesah has dropped a beautiful new song as an “ode to treating woman like royalty” called Nubian Queen. Much respect!
