2025 brought reggae fans from around the world an incredible amount of inspiring and heartfelt new music. We saw artists take major career leaps and legends release their best music yet. Here are 2025 Daily Reggae Awards “Artist of the Year” nominees. 

As a musical genre reggae has some of the most talented artists and bands worldwide. An album is the culmination of hard work, heart and vision and in 2025 we saw the release of so many inspiring LPs. Here are the nominees for the 2025 Daily Reggae Awards “Album of the Year”.

Chronixx is back with a brand new album titled “Exile” and the LP is so fire! The album’s title track “Exile” is the Daily Reggae Song of the Week. We are loving the smooth guitar riff, jamming bass line and Chronixx’s laid back vocals.

Rolling Stone recently published a must-read article for any reggae fan! The article titled, “25 Riddims That Have Defined Jamaican Music” was written by Patricia Meschino and does such an incredible job diving into the history of reggae and detailing the intricacies of reggae riddims released over the decades!

Cali Roots 2022 is going to be epic! The festival recently announced the additions of Stick Figure, Beenie Man, and Tunnel Vision, and looking at the four-day lineup has us jumping out of our seats!

In his new single, Ups And Downs, Hector Roots Lewis sings, “Cuz you can never rise if you never yet fall down; You can never rise if you never yet fall down; It's ups and downs.” We love this message for so many reasons. If you don’t take a chance and follow your passions in life then you’ll never rise. There will certainly be days when you fall down but the rise will be all worth it! Lewis is known as a background vocalist and percussionist for Chronixx, and he shines in Ups and Downs. The Ups and Downs music video was recently released and it’s a super cool and colorful video that you have to check out!
