Daily Reggae caught up with H.R. to dive into the talented musician’s new album, “Let Luv Lead (The Way)”, novel creative process, and teaming with LAW Records.

Hey H.R. ! We are loving your single, “Attitude” featuring Sonny Sandoval. The song has an incredible riddim and energy. How did the song come together and what message do you and Sonny want listeners to hear?

It originally was a hardcore song that I and Darryl wrote with Earl and Gary in the early years of the mighty Brains. It was reconstructed about two years ago at Passafarm studio. The message is to stay positive and not to give up, which came from a book called “Think and Grow Rich.”

Tell us about the creative place you have been in while creating your new album, “Let Luv Lead (The Way)”. What have been some of your favorite places to write and record the music?

My creativity is through the unity of universal Love with a proper overstanding, which is the theme of all of my music. I wrote all of the lyrics at home and I recorded at Passafarm, Ted’s studio.

Where are you based these days, and do you plan to perform some live shows in 2024?

I’m based on Planet Earth. I would love to do some shows in 2024 through the powers of Jah, yes.

How did you sync up with the LAW Records team, and what has it been like teaming with them?

I met Paul at a show in San Diego and he approached I about doing an album. Then my manager, Kate, worked out a deal with them in conjunction with my producer, Ted.

What advice do you have for up-and-coming artists as they find their sound?

You gotta pay your dues and stay on top of your career.
