Cydeways continues perfecting nostalgic reggae rock sound in “Wasted Summer”
Cydeways continues perfecting the band’s nostalgic reggae rock sound in “Wasted Summer”.
The Santa Barbara-based reggae rock group connects reggae, rock and pop in a silky smooth fashion and its tracks always bring vibes while taking listeners on a trip down memory line.
Like the album’s title track, I love the way Dustin Parks writes songs and this song has a killer hook and flow that has me thinking back on a summer of the past. “Wasted Summer” is an epic party starter song!
Things slow down and once again Parks showcases his talented as a lyricist in the thoughtful tune “Lockdown” featuring Matisyahu. I had the chance to see the band play this one live and it’s such a vibe. I love its message to escape from anything holding you down.
Jeremy Baker is a phenomenal guitarist and you really connect with the band’s remarkable punk rock style and influence in “Always”. Once again this song takes me to younger years and the band absolutely shreds every second of the tune.
“Tidal Wave” is another big time song inspiring listeners to escape to a happy place. I love the way the band mixes up their place and Parks deserves a lot of applause for his beautiful lyrics.
I love the band’s collab with MC, Wax. The band like the song’s message keeps evolving and their music is so novel and pleasing to the ears. Cydeways is opening up so many new fans to reggae and that’s so rad!
