Groove to Med Dred and Shaky Norman’s “Forward Melodicas”! This track is so irie and relaxing. I always enjoying listening to the melodica in reggae music and these two virtuosos share so many positive vibes.

Today’s featured piece is the Bayfest Blue Icon Hat. This sleek, striking blue hat is from our favorite San Diego reggae festival “Bayfest”. This year’s event will take place on July 8 and features Damian Marley, Common Kings, Koffee, DENM and more.

While every great festival must come to an end, and although we have reached the final day of Cali Vibes 2023, I still had a full day of great artists ready to please the ears of thousands awaiting me.

Istanbul’s Bosphoroots highlights the importance of peace in “Hayal”. Reggae’s power is felt worldwide, and it’s super fun listening to Bosphoroots’ music. This single is powerful! You can feel the band’s emotions and strongly hear their talent.

Take a trip along “The Scenic Route” with Glenn Holdaway and Liam Robertson. I am absolutely loving this single’s funk and all around vibe! Holdaway is one of the most talented trumpet players on the reggae scene today. Daily Reggae asked about the song’s reggae influence and he gave a legendary response!

Ease into love with Jordan T’s “I Feel It Could”. Jordan T is such an incredible songwriter, and this is one my favorite songs of the Maui-based artist to date! Love is not always easy, but Jordan T’s beautiful voice and simple yet inspiring words will instantly get you excited about what’s ahead.

King Tappa inspires focus and ignores haters in “Fix Up Yourself”. Sometimes self improvement starts with pushing all distractions aside and staying on a grind, and I love the call to action King Tappa strongly drops in the track.

See Damian “Jr Gong” Marley, Common Kings, Koffee and more at the 2023 San Diego Bayfest! This year’s lineup is amazing, and it’s hard to beat a day in the sun at San Diego’s Waterfront Park listening to reggae! The one day festival is set for July 8, 2023.

New Zealand’s Canaan Ene brings to life an amazing reggae version of Bruno Mars’ “Talking to the Moon”.

There’s few releases I look forward to more than DENM and Landon McNamara. The first track from the EP, “Wild Trip” was chosen as one of the best tracks of 2022! The full EP is finally out and Slum Beach Posse Vol. 1 does not disappoint.

Sax N Dub collaborate with Madi Simmons in the uplifting single, “Working For A Brighter Day”. The track, released by Dubophonic Records, calls for unity, peace, and coming together. I really love the song’s sax and how it pairs so nicely with the dub effects!

After a quick stop at the Razafari Apparel tent to snag a hoody, I set my sights on the Vibes stage and gave my camera a final check. A good number of festival-goers were decked out in Cali Vibes swag purchased the previous day, wandering around gathering supplies from the local food and drink vendors and soon finding their spot to enjoy the show.
