Dukes of Roots and Tarrus Riley celebrate the power of reggae while honoring Toots Hibbert in an amazing cover of Toots & The Maytals’ classic, “Pressure Drop”. The single released by Migration Records x YoungPow Productions is the debut single of Dukes of Roots. The reggae community continues to mourn the loss of the reggae founder and legend, and this collaboration would make Toots super proud!

Slow down and watch Josh Heinrichs’ cool new “Feels Good” music video. The video was filmed in Los Angeles, California and features some gorgeous shots of the beach, waves, and palm trees. We especially love the part of the video where Josh plays his guitar on the rocks overlooking the water.

HIRIE has released tour dates for the upcoming national “Mood Swing” tour, which will feature special guests Ballyhoo!, KBong & Johnny Cosmic, Surfer Girl, and Vana Liya on select dates. The tour kicks off in California on October 5 following the release of HIRIE’s “Mood Swing” album dropping September 30. We are SO excited for this tour and to listen to HIRIE’s latest studio album!

The ten date tour will make its way through Nevada, California, Idaho, Oregon, and Washington and will be a great opportunity to hear the stunning songs from Fuga’s 2021 album, “Rain On Sunday”. The Hawaiian singer-songwriter is so talented and if you close your eyes and listen to her music, you will feel an instant sense of calm!

Mellow Mood and Konshens turn up the heat in their new single, “My Bed”. The single has an incredible reggae and dancehall riddim and Mellow Mood and Konshens’ vocals are so relaxing. “My Bed” is Mellow Mood’s latest single dropping ahead of their upcoming album. We cannot wait to listen to the full album, which will surely bring so many good vibes!

Jamaica’s Melekú has teamed with Bashment Records and shows off his dancehall flow in “Son of His”. The single was released on June 29th and is the first single ahead of his “Jumpout Pack 1.0” EP release. Melekú is the son of reggae legend, Sizzla, and is building an impressive musical catalog.

Reggae is one of the most powerful musical genres around the world. As Clinton Fearon told us, “Reggae is about not giving up. Times are tough, things are rough. There is hate and crimes and war all over, but you know what, we are not giving up, because as people we can do better.” Playing for Change Band has released a stunning new album titled, “The Real Revolution” and we are absolutely loving the album’s sound, positive message, and fantastic music.

In their latest single, “Better Off”, Matt Irie Band helps us find peace in walking away from negativity. We are loving this new reggae rock jam that celebrates the freedom to start over and not look back. “Better Off” is a great break up song! It’s actually a great song to crank any time you’re trying to manifest positive vibes in your life.

Washington, D.C.-based artist, Gede has released a groovy new album titled, “Currents” that we have really been enjoying! Gede takes inspiration from multiple genres including rock, reggae, and electronica! We are very impressed with the album, and are totally vibing with Gede’s unique sound.

Summer is in full swing here in the U.S. and if you’re looking to get your summer dance party started, look no further than Sanjin’s “Where Do We Go”. The single released by Positive Vibes was produced by Garmiani, and we love the dancehall beat.

The Resolvers have dropped a powerful new reggae rock single, “Awake David”. The song highlights the beautiful vocals of Sahara Smith and her brother, O’Jay Smith. Awake David urges us to put in the effort necessary to make positive changes for our communities now. What an important message!

One of the things we love about the global reggae music scene and covering it at Daily Reggae is that we are constantly on the hunt to discover new music, and the amount of talent on the reggae scene is incredible! Last year, we connected with Southern California’s Justin Vidal, a talented multi-instrumentalist, who has released a rocking new EP titled, “Love What You Have”. We are absolutely loving this four track EP that has Vidal showing us a glimpse into his heart and a strong view into his talent as a musician.

If you have not yet listened to UB40’s 2021 album, “Bigga Baggariddim” we recommend you turn up this incredible record this weekend! UB40 collaborated with a wonderful list of artists including up-and-comers like Jamaica’s Blvk H3ro. In fact, H3ro appeared on three of the album’s tracks and our favorite, “Gravy Train Is Coming” now has a fun music video!

The Original Wailers and Al Anderson celebrate love in the new single, “Song of the Divine”. Anderson is one of the original members of The Wailers, who gained worldwide fame with Bob Marley. “Song of the Divine” blends reggae, jazz, and soul and is the laid back song we’ve been searching for!

Every once in a while we are blessed with a music artist that is able to bring us into their world in a way in which we all feel understood and welcomed by the same sense of home. It would be hard, if not impossible, to find an artist from the 21st century who has done this better than Jack Johnson. Since his first album “Brushfire Fairytales”, Jack has managed to infuse the calm and communal perspective of his Hawaiian home within his music without excluding those far from the water from feeling the warm ocean breeze when throwing on any of his tunes. Coming from the perspective of a musician who plays songs from all genres in venues of all types, there is no collection of tracks that seems to be as universally enjoyed as Jack's catalogue. In his new full length album "Meet The Moonlight", Johnson once again speaks from the heart and delivers an album with songwriting and tones that sound as if you're listening to him play in a friend's living room.
