Hawaiian singer-songwriter, Dillon Pakele showcases the power of perseverance in his new EP, “Faith”. The EP released by Pakele Entertainment honors Dillon’s father and features six beautiful new songs blending island reggae and R&B.

Nattali Rize and Mike Love send an inspiring message to never give up in the new single, “Believer”. In the song’s chorus, Rize powerfully sings, “I'm a Believer, I believe the life we have is ours to make. Everyday. I'm a Believer, there is no time to waste so make a start today.” What an incredible message and an important one as we all face obstacles between our dreams. Believer is a beautiful song and Rize and Love together shine so bright lyrically and in their passionate deliveries.

There are music artists; those with a vision and message for the sound they want to communicate to the world, and there are musicians; those who are experts in the theory and technical knowledge of creating and performing music. Then there are those like Clinton Fearon, who is the talented embodiment of both. Fearon is a legend of reggae music who began his prolific career in the late 60s, first as a member of The Gladiators, and eventually transitioning to performing and releasing music as a solo artist. He also has been brought in on countless records as a session musician, becoming known as one of the best bass players in the genre. For his newest album "Breaking News", released on June 3rd, 2022, Clinton traveled to France to record and work with a group of talented musicians to create a record that he deems as one of, if not his best. 

Since its inception in 1999, Groundation has brought to the reggae community an immense catalogue of quality recorded music that blends genuine and heartfelt roots reggae with jazz influenced compositions and instrumental performances. As is the case for many of the albums we have reviewed thus far, Groundation's wonderful new album "One Rock" was born from the fires of the pandemic.

Tropidelic’s “Sleeping Giant Tour” kicks off today in Aspen, Colorado! The nationwide tour is an awesome opportunity to see the rising reggae rockers. Michael Franti & Spearhead and Kash’d Out will perform on certain tour dates as well. These are going to be epic shows!

Start your week by jamming Rebelution’s rocking new album, “Live in St. Augustine”. The album was released on May 20th by Round Hill Records and you’re going to absolutely love it! The album is Rebelution’s second live album and follows the band’s magical “Live at Red Rocks” record.

Paramount Pictures is set to produce a biopic of Bob Marley’s life, and a release from Tuff Gong International said Jamaican casting for the film is now underway! This is a movie we cannot wait to watch, and it’s awesome to hear how closely involved the Marley family is in the production. According to the release, Cedella Marley, Rita Marley, Ziggy Marley, and Stephen Marley were named producers.

The reggae and country genres might not always cross the mind at the same time, but if fused in a meaningful way they can be absolutely beautiful. In fact, Gramps Morgan’s Grammy-nominated album, Positive Vibration, has done it beautifully. Portland-based musicians Aaron Nigel Smith and Red Yarn have now united the genres in a fabulous new album titled, “Smith & Yarn”, and you have to give it a listen! The album was released by Aya World Productions and Red Yarn Productions and was distributed by Tuff Gong International.

Slow down and listen to Arise Roots’ “If You Let Me (Unplugged: Live at Felton Music Hall)”. The new single is a beautiful live acoustic version of “If You Let Me”, which was originally released on Arise Roots’ 2020 album, “Pathways”. The song is a thoughtful love song with outstanding lyrics and we love the slow downed pace in the new version.

Dailyreggae.com caught up with Groundation’s Harrison Stafford to learn about the fabulous new Groundation album, “One Rock”, released today by Easy Star Records. Harrison reflects on the album’s inspiration, working with reggae legends like Israel Vibration, The Abyssinians, and The Congos, and his musical influences.

Birmingham, Alabama-based band, Bob Marston & the Credible Sources weave together folk, rock, and reggae in the grooving new song, “Real Magic, Good People”. The single will be featured in the band’s debut LP, “So Long” due out June 3, 2022. Real Magic, Good People has a cool southern charm and we love its reggae influence. In fact, we haven’t heard another song like it! It’s a really beautiful tribute to the band’s hometown.

Johnny Suite celebrates love and the ups and downs in “God Gave Me You”. God Gave Me You is a beautiful new love song released by Suite, who stems from Mililani, Hawaii. Johnny showcases his incredible voice and romantic lyrics in this island reggae hit.

Not even a “Highway Robbery” can slow down Kash’d Out and Katastro and we love this new bass booming single released via LAW Records. It’s definitely been a huge Kash’d Out week for us! We were just listening to the band’s Sugarshack Sessions EP, and we love this new collaboration with Katastro.

A great dish is often composed of a variety of flavors that would otherwise conflict if it weren't for the skill and creativity of a talented chef. Music shares this characteristic, especially in the modern age, as the genres that have developed over the past century are now being mixed to create wonderful new songs and releases. On their new full-length album, the American band Cydeways has accomplished exactly that. Blending reggae, pop-punk, hip hop, and alternative rock, Cydeways has created an album that has high energy, moments of calm, and stylistic flow from start to finish.
