Trojan Jamaica recently dropped an irie new remix of Small Axe by U-Roy featuring Jesse Royal. You have to check it out! The song was remixed by Trojan Jamaica’s co-founders, Zak Starkey and Sharna “Sshh” Liguz. Royal teamed up with U-Roy to record the song, a Bob Marley classic, before his passing. The Jamaica Soundsystem Remix has a fresh take on one of our favorite Bob Marley songs, and you’ll love watching the song’s cool music video.

In a release sent to Dailyreggae.com, Royal said, “We are all from the same bloodline. Products of one of the greatest places on Earth! Walking talking blessings. The session for me was a school, as whoever knows me knows that I’m an avid studier when it comes to the ones who set it! The vibrations are always high, as the respect is mutual, and for me the level of gratitude was undeniable! Incredible concept that the team came up with, and brilliant execution by the musical team. Truly honored to be a part of such an amazing project!”

If you haven’t listened to it yet, you should also listen to U-Roy’s album, Solid Gold. Released by Trojan Jamaica, the album features many of our favorite artists collaborating with U-Roy like Ziggy Marley, Shaggy, Santigold, and so many more.

Look out for our Daily Reggae Artist Profile next week featuring Zak Starkey and Sharna “Sshh” Liguz!
