The Music World Mourns Bob Weir: A Bridge Between Jam and Reggae

The music world has lost a true legend with the passing of Bob Weir, the visionary guitarist and songwriter for the Grateful Dead.

While the Dead famously forged the jam band path, Weir was a restless explorer who shared a deep, rhythmic bond with the reggae world.

Beyond the "Deadhead" culture, Bobby’s influence crossed over through iconic collaborations, most notably joining Stephen Marley and Jack Johnson on the track "Winding Road." He also famously welcomed Slightly Stoopid into his TRI Studios for the Live at Roberto’s session, cementing a lifelong bridge between the San Rafael and Ocean Beach scenes.

Rest in power, Bobby—thank you for the music and the soul.
