J Boog has gathered some of Hawaii’s best artists for the new track “Fire Up Di Roses” Just in time for 420 weekend, J Boog, The Green, Common Kings, and Fiji have come together for this laid-back track. Rounded off by the smooth production of J-Vibe, this is the perfect track to kick back and relax too.

The “Slightly Dirty Summer Tour” 2024 brings together reggae rock giants Slightly Stoopid and Dirty Heads. This tour is going to rock, and kicks off on July 11 for a 23 stop nationwide journey! Both bands are at the top of their games and beautifully blend reggae, rock and hip hop influence.

Congratulations to J-Vibe for winning the 2023 Daily Reggae Producer of the Year! J-Vibe always pursues greatness and his collaboration with Collie Buddz in this year’s GRAMMY-award nominated album, “Cali Roots Riddim 2023” is a glimpse at his top tier production!

The amount of talent spanning the reggae music genre is absolutely incredible and it’s no easy task narrowing the list of new album releases down to the five best 2023 releases. This year, we paid extra attention to LPs that tell a story and carry the listener from start to finish.

The ultra-smooth Orange County quartet known as Common Kings are back to put their signature island vibes into the pop-reggae scene with a brand new album fittingly titled CELEBRATION. Almost two years in the making and filtered down from an incredible 120 songs to just 12, CELEBRATION aims to get you in the mood to shake around and sing aloud!

What does your teenage emo pop punk playlist have in common with reggae music? Absolutely nothing … until now! The extremely talented vocalist and lead guitarist of Iya Terra, Nathan Aurora, has created a project and successfully bridged the gap, composing a compilation of some of your favorite songs from a distant past performed by a new community of artists that put their own reggae twist to each of them.

In honor of Common Kings releasing “Celebration”, this edition of Song of the Week is Queen Majesty by Common Kings feat. Sammy Johnson and The Green. The cover of the classic track written by Dennis Brown and Curtis Mayfield has been floating around for a few years, but the Common Kings version it is so good it deserved a spot on a full length album.

Daily Reggae caught up with Common Kings to learn about the band’s sophomore album, “Celebration”, how the reggae rockers approached writing and recording the LP, and which new songs they love jamming on the road! Read the full profile now!

September’s Holo Holo Music Festival features a jamming lineup of artists like Kolohe Kai, J Boog, Common Kings, and Mike Love. The two day festival on the Old Sacramento Waterfront runs September 9th and 10th!

Slightly Stoopid has officially announced the 9th annual Closer to the Sun concert vacation! With big names such as Stick Figure, Dirty Heads, Common Kings, The Movement and so many more, this is definitely a can’t miss trip. In partnership with Cloud 9 Adventures, the event takes place at the Hard Rock Hotel Riviera Maya, an all-inclusive resort on the coast of Mexico, for four days and nights from December 7-11, 2023.

Dirty Heads just have it! What is it? An incredible amount of musical talent, a passion to release amazing music, and incredible songwriting chops. The vibes are so on point in the band’s new album “Midnight Control”. Dirty Heads are truly a genre blending band bringing together the best of reggae, hip hop, rock and pop.

Cali Roots’ Mexico Sessions 2022 in Puerto Vallarta features an incredible lineup including Steel Pulse, HIRIE, Alborosie, Protoje, Pepper, and J Boog. The unique musical experience is taking place November 2-6, 2022 at Meliá. Cali Roots teamed up with Pollen to plan the festival, and if you love reggae and fun in the sun, this will be the place to be in November!

Warm congratulations to SOJA who took home the Best Reggae Album Grammy Award last night for the band’s incredible album, Beauty In The Silence. SOJA’s impact on the reggae music genre is huge, and the band continues to create beautiful music. Beauty In The Silence is an outstanding album, and if you haven’t listened to it from start to finish, we recommend you do it soon!

What sets reggae apart from other musical genres is its deep sense of community embodied by both fans and artists alike. Instead of being fueled by competition, the extended reggae family wants to see one another succeed and become their best selves. Attend a reggae concert and you will find smiling faces and open arms from fellow fans. As a reggae artist one is more likely to find success by helping and collaborating with other artists than trying to outdo them. This methodology of positivity and collaboration is what brought renowned American reggae band SOJA together, and is entirely evident in their new album "Beauty In The Silence".
