The Black Seeds recently released their second single supporting the New Zealand band’s upcoming seventh studio album via Easy Star Records. The song is called Let the Sunshine Through and we love the song’s unique reggae groove and positive message. The Black Seeds’ lead singer and songwriter, Barnaby Weir described the single as a “bittersweet love song” but it’s definitely bringing us inner peace as we listen.

According to a release sent to Dailyreggae.com, Weir said, “I wrote this song just pre-Covid lockdown in New Zealand and worked on it during the first lockdown just after having had my first child, which was quite complicated and stressful. ‘Let The Sunshine Through’ is about finding hope in a fraught scenario. There was something about the key that it is in and the melodies of the song, they are emotional but in a positive way.”

It feels like we all need a pick-me-up these days, and this is the perfect song to inspire new energy and good vibes. We are excited to listen to the band’s full album next year!

Let the Sunshine Through by The Black Seeds is the Daily Reggae Song of the Day.
