King Cruff unites reggae, hip hop and dancehall in the conscious track, “Samurai Chop”.

The talented Toronto-based artist was released by Tuff Gong Collective and Universal Music Canada and I love Cruff’s passionate flow and thoughtful lyrics.

Reflecting on the song’s message, King Cruff said in a release, I’m a big fan of songs that have one vibe but the lyrics tell a different story. ‘Samurai Chop’ is about the party lifestyle and how chatter and drama can bleed into it. The line that really influenced the song was ‘Words cut deep like a samurai chop’. My mom always said that words have power and I believe in that.”

Look out for more big tunes from Cruff in 2023!
