Field of Dreamz Festival Delivers One of the Best Concert Experiences I've Ever Had
Stephen Marley performs with Slightly Stoopid at the Field of Dreamz Festival.
The inaugural Field of Dreamz Festival at Petco Park wrapped up with an incredible stretch of performances from The Elovaters, Slightly Stoopid, and Sublime, delivering everything fans love about reggae, rock, and ska.
The Elovaters delivered one of the standout sets of the day. Frontman Jackson Wetherbee's smooth vocals and effortless stage presence shined on favorites including "Good Old Days," "Jean Jacket," “Staring At The Sun," and "Pockets Full Of Sand." The band's tight musicianship was highlighted by a scorching saxophone solo, while a special appearance from Scott Woodruff of Stick Figure on "Gardenia" gave fans one of the day's most memorable collaborations.

As the hometown heroes took the stage, Slightly Stoopid immediately turned Petco Park into one giant party. Fan favorites like "2 AM," "Sweet Honey," and "Wiseman" kept the crowd moving, while the band's horn section, dynamic light show, and impressive musicianship were on full display as Miles Doughty and Kyle McDonald switched instruments throughout the set.
What made the performance truly special were the guests. Stephen Marley joining the band for a tribute to Jo Mersa Marley was one of the festival’s most beautiful moments. Appearances from Woodruff, Pepper’s Kaleo Wassman, reggae legend Don Carlos, and Divina Jasso of Boostive transformed the set into a celebration of the reggae community. Each guest added something unique, creating moments fans will cherish.

Another smart move by the festival organizers was placing DJ Z-Trip between Slightly Stoopid and Sublime. His creative mixes and high-energy set kept the crowd engaged and the momentum rolling while building anticipation for the night's finale.
Sublime closed out the festival with a performance that showcased why their influence on reggae rock remains unmatched. Songs like "Wrong Way" brought plenty of punk-rock energy, powered by infectious guitar work and the band's signature ability to shift seamlessly between laid-back reggae grooves and ska-punk intensity. The set felt like a celebration of the genre's evolution while also giving fans a taste of material from the band's rocking new album, “Until The Sun Explodes”.
