Farewell to a Legend: Honoring the Life of Jimmy Cliff
Today we remember and celebrate the life of Jimmy Cliff, the reggae legend who passed away at 81. His music, from “Many Rivers to Cross” to “You Can Get It If You Really Want” and his iconic “I Can See Clearly Now”, carried messages of hope, resilience, and unity.
His breakthrough role in the 1972 film The Harder They Come made him a global star and helped bring reggae to the world stage.
A cultural giant, Jimmy Cliff was a two-time Grammy winner, a Rock & Roll Hall of Famer, and a recipient of Jamaica’s Order of Merit.
He is survived by his family — Latifa, Lilty, and Aken. May his legacy live on through the music that moved the world.
