Reggae icon Jimmy Cliff shines in his new album, “Refugees”. Cliff has one of the deepest reggae music catalogs and best voices across all music genres. “Refugees” is a gorgeous album that has the Rock and Roll Hall of Famer touch on so many important topics. The quality of the album is a perfect example of why I’m so proud to be a reggae music fan. Cliff is a generational talent and this is an album I’ll be listening to often!

The album starts with the song, “Money Love” a nice reminder to focus on love and not money. Cliff’s voice carries this tune and the reggae riddim is super uplifting.

In the track “Here I Am” the bass line grooves and Jimmy slows down the pace. The song includes some really relaxing guitar riffs and horns.

Cliff collabs with Wyclef Jean, a legend in his own right, in the album’s title track. Cliff places an important spotlight on the topic of making sure people are safe and have homes. Cliff’s voice and vocals are so legendary. He truly is one of the best singers of all time. The power of his voice and his passionate delivery are so unique.
