Chris Del Camino honors the loss of dad in the heartfelt song “History”. Daily Reggae spoke with Del Camino to learn more about the song’s inspiration and creation.

“It stems from processing the loss of my dad who took his life in the spring of 2021. The song begins kinda set in a time in my life in college when I was at a kind of low in my life.”

He added, “‘Black and white is all that you get’ is like his broken view of the world, view of me. ‘We could’ve done anything’ refers to kinda the childhood hopes that, even as an adult I had to learn to let go. “Not it’s just history” is the processing of that loss, both before he actually passed away, and in a much more real way, after he’d passed.”

Here’s to a big round of applause to Chris for being brave enough to write and create this important song on such an important topic near to so many of us.

Del Camino teamed up with Mickey Young to write the song and the track was mixed/mastered by Danny Kalb.

Make sure to follow Chris to stay up with his solo music, collabs, and work as a songwriter and saxophonist for Hirie.

History” by Chris Del Camino is the Daily Reggae Song Of The Day.
