Add Ventura Music Hall to your California music venue bucket list! The gorgeous hall is the perfect escape for reggae music fans and only minutes from the beach! Daily Reggae had the chance to connect with the venue’s GM, Courtney Panton, about the Ventura Music Hall’s amazing momentum since launching in 2022.

Hey Courtney - Huge congratulations to you and the Ineffable Music family on all the great success with Ventura Music Hall!

Thank you! New Kingston and Ineffable go way back so to be a part of this is like destiny.

What year did the venue launch and what do you think makes the venue so unique from an artist and fan's perspective?

The venue launched in March of 2022 and what makes this venue unique is that it feels like a second home for artists and fans alike. Ventura Music Hall is becoming the backyard that everyone wants to play in. People love to come back again and again because of our amazing staff and our duty to provide memorable experiences. And it doesn't hurt that the beach is less than 5 minutes away haha.

This month, we wanted to profile an Amazing Venue for reggae music, and Ventura Music Hall was top of mind! You've had some amazing reggae acts come through! What are some of the most memorable reggae shows that you've hosted at Ventura Music Hall so far?

We've had some amazing Reggae come through! My personal favorite was Stephen Marley. The sound was so good and the vibe was awesome! But one of Thomas' favorites, Dub Inc tore the house down. Protoje brought his Lost In Time tour with Jesse Royal & Lila Ike and every time Collie Buddz comes around he lights the place on fire! The list goes on and on.

Tell us about your role as GM of the venue! What does your day to day look like? And how does that differ on the day of a concert?

My role as the GM is one of the coolest experiences! Non-concert days are filled with advancing shows and constant progression inside the venue to better the artist and fan experience. But concert days are the real fun! Seeing all the behind the scenes work come to life, hearing about the good times people are having and managing the coolest staff in the world! Something you gotta witness in real time.

What are some upcoming reggae shows that Ventura Music Hall has in the books that fans should grab tickets to?

Upcoming Reggae shows to look out for are Israel Vibration on 4.24, Fortunate Youth on 5.23, J Boog on 5.17 and the legendary Burning Spear coming 5.28.
