Ethan Tucker writes from the heart and fans can get excited about his upcoming album

Ethan - We are loving your new single, “Bad Man”! What does this song mean to you and how did the rhythm or word come first?

It touches on so much of what we see with so much violence on a world scale that reaches all the way down to our local schools, places of worship and communities. It really seems like it can happen anywhere at any time, and it affects us daily as people just trying to get by in today’s society. The words literally came to me in a dream where I was being chased through the city by armed men and I couldn’t get away and in my dream my grandmother was yelling “Run run run bad man coming through with his gun!” I woke up with those words and that melody in my head and I immediately recorded it into my voice notes on my phone.

You collaborated with Sean The Shaman and the mix of your reggae and Sean’s hip hop vibes is really nice! How did you decide to collaborate and any fun production stories?

I started recording a version of "Bad Man" at home and had always thought that it would be cool to find someone to rap on it. One night out I saw Sean perform a set and I was blown away! I went up to him and said I have a song I think you’d be perfect for. We finished the demo and just sat in it for a while. Then I created the opportunity to get Mario Caldato Jr. and Dru DeCaro, two producers I’d previously worked with, together and we made this amazing version of the song that you hear now.

We are so excited that you’re working on a new album! Have you been performing “Bad Man” or any new songs that are in progress during your live sets?

Thank you so much, I am excited to get these songs out to the masses! We've been performing “Bad Man,” as well as various others from the upcoming album, live for some time now. You’ll have an opportunity to hear them first-hand at upcoming shows throughout the rest of the year!
