idoljob shows us the sound of equality with “We Are One”

Placing a reggae pin on the map for Arlington, Texas, idoljob reminds us we are all just leaves of the same branch with their latest release “We Are One”. The tune is a much needed and robust message delivered by an adept collection of musicians, brought together by a passion for doing just that

Coming together for the first time in 2006 as a reggae cover band, idoljob started writing original music in 2014, pulling inspiration from all genres while keeping a rootsy base to build their sound on. The eight-member band has a string of superb singles already making waves and have opened for numerous established names in the reggae community (Stephen Marley, The Movement, Bumpin Uglies, Fortunate Youth and Artikal Sound System just to name a very few…).

Recorded in Nashville at Blackbird Studios and mixed and produced by their former drummer Mark LeBlanc, “We Are One” addresses a lifelong issue of treating people of all creeds and colors as if they were a part of your family. A strong harmony of horns opens up the tune and makes way for the first verse, inviting you to look within and realize we are only here for a short time – why live life with a heart full of hate? It’s never too late to change your way of thinking for the better and make some new friends! After all, we are one.

The brass section provides a punchy rhythm behind the chorus, complimenting the clear and concise vocals on the infectious beat. A well-timed, smooth and intricate mid-song guitar solo fits perfectly between verses as the soothing sounds of the melodica guides you to the end of the song, finished off by a steady hold on the keys. This is a group of true musicians!

I love the positivity that encompasses everything these guys put out there. I’ve been to many of their shows and found that they truly live by the words they write. This song perfectly aligns with the morality and attitude they want to see shine through in the world we live in (and I promise you will feel it through the speakers!) The production value rivals some of the best out there, and it seems to level up with every new release, solidifying their place in the musical universe.

idoljob would like to extend a special thanks to Mark LeBlanc (producer, mixer, recording engineer, homie), Wylie Jones (keys), Blackbird studios, Jim King Studios and Ryan Lorensen for Mastering.
