Iya Terra guitarist and vocalist, Nick Sefakis is one of the best guitarists in the reggae circuit today, and Sefakis’ passion as a reggae musician is always strongly felt at his live shows, and in recordings. Sefakis’ new solo album, “Hear My Sound” is a reflection of love, strength and growth and showcases the musician’s development as a songwriter and artist.

Take “Truth & Rights” the album’s first song. Sefakis starts the track with some of his powerful guitar licks and powerfully sings about giving a voice to the voiceless.

Sefakis talks about the importance of loving all people in “Live & Learn”. I love the song’s chorus and reggae riddim with Sefakis carrying the tune.

The album has many talented features like Dizzy Wright collaborating in “Set You Free”. Wright is a talented rapper that brings a hip hop vibe to this laid back love song.

Choosing the title track of an album is no easy task, but “Hear My Sound” was a great choice. In difficult times, Sefakis emphasizes love and not fear and it’s an important message for all to hear.

Mash Up System” has Sefakis collaborate with Iotosh and features another hip hop style beat. Sefakis sings about the importance of uplifting the next generation and focusing on love.

I love the irie bass line and smooth guitar riddim in “Light of Light”. Sefakis shines when he’s able to show off his impressive guitar skills and this track was very well produced.

The horns in “Making of History” featuring Arise RootsKarim Israel are very catchy and will have you grooving to the song’s vibe. The song has a positive message about finding your roots and helping them guide you in life’s journey.

Carrying a song with smooth guitar is one of Sefakis’ many talents as an artist as is his passion to constantly create and spread a message of good vibes. “Music Never Fades” is a perfect reflection of Nick Sefakis and his energy as an artist. The song’s solo guitar is one my favorite moments in the album.

Sefakis and Gonzo collaborate in “Want To Love Ya” another beautiful reggae love song that is perfect for any dance floor.

In “Brighter Days” Sefakis unleashes his guitar powers and shares a message of positive intent and action even when times are tough. The future is so bright for Nick Sefakis. Iya Terra continues to put out some of the best reggae rock music today and you can tell how much fun Nick is having making these incredible songs as a solo artist as well. I cannot wait to hear what’s next!
