Dirty Heads just have it! What is it? An incredible amount of musical talent, a passion to release amazing music, and incredible songwriting chops. The vibes are so on point in the band’s new album “Midnight Control”. Dirty Heads are truly a genre blending band bringing together the best of reggae, hip hop, rock and pop.

Take the album’s first tack “Island Glow” as an example. It immediately catches your attention with the impressive flow, lyrics and hip hop style beat. I love the way Dirty Heads changes up their style in this song with the rap style verses and reggae rock singing chorus.

Heavy Waters” is a super catchy song and Dirty Heads’ collaboration with Common Kings is awesome. The song has another near perfect beat and they layer in some nice guitar during the chorus. It’s not easy marrying reggae, hip hop and rock but Dirty Heads make it look and sound easy.

Dirty Heads slow down the pace and celebrate life in the stellar jam “Life’s Been Good”. This song is classic Dirty Heads and is one that I almost guarantee you’ll be singing along to by the second verse!

Close your eyes and imagine you’re sitting in the sand on your favorite beach with that special someone. That’s the vibe of Dirty Heads’ acoustic guitar led song “Make Me”. It’s another proof point of the band’s amazing ability to think of a simple but powerful lyric and build an all around beautiful song around it.

The album’s title track “Midnight Control” is a dreamy song about a complicated love relationship. I really like the visual lyrics and how the song is quite different than the album’s other tracks.

Dirty Heads take you on a laid back trip in “El Dorado”. I love the horns in this song and the catchy guitar riffs.

I think you’ll love the chill song “Shade”, which is a great reminder to push stress away and think about the positive aspects of life.

“Midnight Control” is such a solid album. Dirty Heads continue to push into new musical waters, and if you haven’t seen them live yet, their concerts are legendary!
