Micah Shemaiah’s uplifting spirit is in full display in “Jamaica Jamaica”. The album opens with the powerful title track, which calls out the need for Jamaica to come together to better address societal issues.

You can hear the urgency in Shemaiah’s voice over the riddim and it definitely catches the listener’s ear.

Using his voice to reflect on more important issues, Shemaiah sends a reminder that violence is never the answer in “Why You Killing Dem So”. The song’s riddim mixes in some cool dub elements that makes it one of the album’s stand out tracks.

Shemaiah brings in a cool pace in the love song, “Left My Heart In Mobay”. This song highlights Shemaiah’s incredible voice and will make you feel the island vibes you’ve been searching for!

I love the track “Stereo”, which reminds me of a throw back jam. Shemaiah brilliantly blends old school and new school reggae styles and teams with Little Lion Sound in the gem. Once again, Shemaiah reflects on listening to negative headlines on the radio but turning negative to positive through action.

My favorite track on the album is “Many Miles” featuring Sahie, which is a reminder that growth comes from new experiences. At the same time, Shemaiah reflects on the importance of staying true to your roots.

I have no doubt that you’ll connect with the emotions of Shemaiah’s lyrics/vocals and will feel inspired to push forward with your head held up high.
