I was originally introduced to Blvk H3ro and his music after listening to his collaboration with Suckarie in the song “Everything Blessed” and was instantly impressed by his voice and energy.

Shortly after that Daily Reggae had the chance to profile the up-and-coming Jamaican artist to hear more about his musical vision, and it’s been inspiring to follow along with his journey, including last year’s GRAMMY nomination in the Best Global Music category where he teamed up with Rocky Dawuni.

Blvk H3ro’s road to superstar status is on full display in “On A Mission”, and I love so many aspects of the album - from the storytelling, H3ro’s vocals, and the incredible production. H3ro has the energy, humble yet confident swag, and songwriting chops to continue his international growth in a major way.

Let’s start with the opening song and title track, “Mission”. I absolutely love the upbeat riddim, especially the drums. H3ro takes us on a journey of the ups and downs while making it clear that he is dedicated to growth and sharing his unique reggae around the world. His voice is so so good in this pump up track.

The pace slows down in “Crazy World” featuring Skillibeng. This song has another fire riddim and H3ro reminds us to never lose sight of our goals. H3ro’s singing and Skillibeng’s MC style flow so well together, and I love the song’s message of keeping our head up no matter what challenges come our way.

Winky D and Vylet Stone team up with H3ro in the big tune “Big Tings”, another inspirational track that continues to set the tone for the album and remind listeners to keep our eyes set on not only meeting our goals - but surpassing them!

H3ro provides a calm reassurance that things will be all right in “Do No Cry”. The riddim although simple has the perfect crispness that will have you dancing along and H3ro is able to carry the tune and transfer so much love and positivity through the recoding.

Get the nearest dance floor lit by turning up “Annabella”, a love song about a wild night, featuring Dre Island. H3ro drops some of the best hooks in the genre and Island brings a hip hop feel to the track. The hip hop scene should be lining up to collaborate with H3ro while finding more ways to infuse the genres.

When it comes to love things don’t always come easy and H3ro reflects on this in “Arguments”. I really enjoy the songs feel and the creativity H3ro brings to singing the hook. This is another amazing rididm with top tier production.

Pick up the pace and turn up the night ahead by singing along to H3ro’s “Good Body” featuring Soko7 and Blaq Pages. This is another party starter song blending reggae and dancehall in a fresh way.

H3ro is bringing his unique sound to reggae and his voice and energy are strongly felt. “Celebration” is another track reflecting on enjoying every moment of the journey and a reminder that H3ro is going to spread his positive outlook and not stop until every performance room is packed.

This album proves he’s ready to take major steps and more great things are on the horizon.
